Changing of the Guard at EWJUS: Dr. Oleh S. Ilnytzkyj steps down as Editor-in-Chief

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With several personal projects in the pipeline, I have decided that this would be a good time to pass the baton of Editor-in-Chief to Dr. Svitlana Krys, Kule Chair in Ukrainian Studies & Assistant Professor at MacEwan University.

I started working on East/West: Journal of Ukrainian Studies in July 2013, when it was just a promising idea pitched to me by the Director of the CIUS, Dr. Volodymyr Kravchenko. Since then I have been privileged to serve as the architect of both the technical system behind the journal as well as head of the editorial process. I am pleased that over this period five issues have appeared, totaling almost a thousand pages. This has been a rewarding experience for me, but also extremely time consuming. Therefore, the moment has come to attend to other matters.

My three years at the helm were made easier by the support I received from the Editorial Board and especially my Book Review Editors, first Dr. Svitlana Krys and currently Tania Plawuszczak-Stech. I thank them both.

Dr. Svitlana Krys comes to East/West: Journal of Ukrainian Studies with extensive experience at Canadian Slavonic Papers, where she served as Assistant Editor over many years. Hers is just the type of leadership the journal needs at this stage of its evolution. Readers and authors can rest assured that Svitlana and I will make the transition smooth, seamless and mostly invisible. The new Editor-in-Chief can be reached at:
